The Americas are a reflection of the region’s great diversity. Our region is enriched by hundreds of distinct ethnic groups and indigenous peoples, most with a unique language and culture, which represent a sizeable portion of the population in many of our member States. In this regard, there is a strong commitment by OAS Secretariat and member States to increase their participation in the inter-American system and address common and persisting challenges.
The Indigenous Peoples Group of the SVC is a space designed to promote discussion, collaboration, follow-up and network among all interested stakeholders. Its main objective is to contribute to become a more equitable region, as envisioned by the leaders and peoples of the Americas.
In this group you will be able to share your ideas, recommendations and initiatives with other community members and organizations interested in this topic, as well as download and upload related documents, pictures and videos. If you are particularly involved in or passionate about indigenous peoples, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and become an active member of the group.
